Who needs color schemes… We have a theme!

Remember back before I was even planning a wedding, and I blogged about Color Schemes?

I have a new opinion on color schemes: They are too hard.

I decided right off the bat that I wanted purple shoes.. In fact, it was my very first wedding purchase. A few months later, I found myself running up to my bedroom with every ribbon, sweater, and paint color I bought to make sure it matched.

Then there was my battle with trying to incorporate other colors, like green, without making the whole wedding “Green & Purple”. Maybe that color scheme works for some girls out there, but I really don’t like the combination.

That’s when I started thinking about adding ivory as a color… and then realized that it already was a wedding color, since my dress is ivory.

Then I realized that adding ivory as a color would still make my wedding look like a purple and green wedding.

That’s when I completely lost my mind and considered renting out this house to get married in:

Okay, maybe I didn’t take it that far… but believe me, I was on the verge of a color scheme meltdown.

So what did I do? I opened my handy dandy little WEDDING INSPO folder on my desktop and looked at everything inside…

And then I came up with a general theme based on my wedding inspiration. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you the Lindsay/Miller Wedding Theme:

Rustic New Hampshire Meets Vintage Country Club with considerable amounts of birds, mason jars, chalkboards and cupcakes.

Bye Bye color scheme… I will still keep my purple shoes, but everything else will be whatever color I want!
